Driven by my passion for community development and purposeful leadership my career has taken me across the globe. I am a community builder and continuously aim to contribute to a more sustainable and healthy life of individuals and community groups around the world.
Just before graduating in Media and Communication Science in Vienna I discovered my interest in working in the public and non-profit sector. Seeking to utilise this interest I left a promising career in the commercial sector behind and was determined to recreate my path.
I applied for an exchange semester in The Hague, home to the UN’s International Court of Justice and in close proximity of the European Parliament located in Brussels. There I was provided with an extraordinary opportunity with SNV, a Dutch non profit organisation. After an initial two months long internship, my supervisor arranged for me to be transferred to Southeast Asia. Once I arrived in Vietnam I joined a multinational REDD+ Energy and Agriculture Program as the sole Communications Officer responsible for projects in 12 countries.
Besides my academic and professional background in environmental protection and community development I am also a determined athlete. To combine all these things that define me I found the perfect tool to make a positive impact on our society. I started longboarding and discovered how this sport can transform individuals and whole communities, solely by giving them freedom, acceptance and a way to express themselves. Driven by a strong sense of positive change I founded Viet Shred, a charity to support and provide opportunities for skateboarders in Vietnam. A similar project followed in Australia, with a focus on creating a safe space and raise awareness for mental health through The Brisbane Longboard Family.
I strongly believe transformational leadership practices can help communities, teams and corporations to achieve best possible results. Trust in each other’s capabilities, decision-making skills and minimal interference leads to unimaginable collaborative success.
